The 2017 Arts & Humanities Program dates: June 18 - July 1, 2017
Our program is open to students 13 - 18 years of age
Summer 2017 core courses feature Renaissance Art, and Ancient Roman Topography (a St. Stephen's School signature course). Both courses are held on-site in the city of Rome, allowing students to visit the significant monuments and sites in person, and to attain an in-depth knowledge of the city for the period in question. Students also enroll in a language course, either Italian or Latin.
The 2017 elective courses will include Creative Writing and 2D/3D Studio Art. Student exhibitions and special performances will be held at the conclusion of the summer school session. A trip to Pompeii and other sites in the south of Italy is also included.
This session also includes an evening Cultural Program with events held on-site around the city of Rome, such as the opera and other musical and theatrical performances where the backdrop is Rome itself, outings to important landmarks in the city opened for special evening visits, and excursions to different neighborhood and ice cream shops (gelaterie) in Rome.
