2011 ANNUAL GALA BENEFIT DINNER
On October 7, 2011 St. Stephen's School held its first Annual Gala Benefit Dinner to kick off its Campaign in support of the arts. Conceived to create momentum towards the School's 50th Anniversary celebration in 2014, this year's event was held at Il Circolo della Caccia, located within the stunning Palazzo Borghese in Rome. The evening was  extraordinary in so many ways, capped by a moving musical tribute to Maestro Ennio Morricone by Richard Trythall, and the memorable remarks from the Maestro following his acceptance of an honorary St. Stephen's School Diploma.  Thanks to the thoughtful generosity of the 140 attendees in addition to those made donations to the event though they could not attend, the 2011 Benefit Gala raised approximately $75,000, kicking off in grand fashion the School's campaign to raise funds for the purpose of reclaiming un-usable space in the building and turning it into flexible and adaptable studio space.  We are deeply grateful to all of you who chose to support St. Stephen's School in this way.

2011-2012 YOUNG ALUMNI CHALLENGE TAKE 2!
Because the 2010-2011 Young Alumni Challenge was so successful, our anonymous contributor for last year's Young Alumni Challenge has agreed to do it again - only this time with a slight and more generous twist! Under the terms of the 2011-2012 Young Alumni Challenge, this generous donor will make a gift of $10,000 to St. Stephen's to create a new scholarship fund to be named "The 2011-12 Young Alumni Scholarship Fund." However, the gift will only be made if at least 100 young alumni who attended St. Stephen's from 2001 to 2011 make a gift to St. Stephen's in 2011-2012. The great part of this Challenge is that size does NOT matter. . . . . your gift of any amount will count towards reaching this goal! Together, you and your fellow young alumni can make a real difference in the life of one young student, who might not otherwise be able to attend St. Stephen's. Please help us meet this important challenge by making a gift today of $5, $10, $50 or whatever is right for you and spread the word among your St. Stephen's School friends.

Participating in the Challenge is easy and will only take a few minutes of your time. To make a secure donation online by credit or debit card please click on the "Donate Now" button to the left of this page or call Michael Brouse in Rome at +39 065750605 or Robert Holcomb in New York at 212-505-7409. Donations by cash or check (payable to St. Stephen's School) can be sent to the New York office at 15 Gramercy Park South, New York, NY 10003, USA. Donations may also be sent directly to the school's address in Rome, Via Aventina 3, 00153 Rome, Italy c/o Michael Brouse, External Affairs.

ADOPT A CHAIR CAMPAIGN SUCCESS
Thank you to alumni, parents (past and present), faculty, and class agents and to devoted friends of the School for their enthusiastic participation in the Adopt a Chair campaign. In one of the first naming opportunities in recent years, the St. Stephen's community rallied to the call with the traditional generosity that earmarks it. The last naming opportunity prior to this year's Adopt a Chair campaign was in the mid 1990s for the renovation of the Carter Library. All of the 127 chairs available were adopted by current and past families, alums, classes (spearheaded by their class agents) and faculty members (past as well as present). Chair dedications vary. The Class of 1968 adopted 9 chairs in memory of Fr. Patterson and members of the faculty in the early years of the School. Families adopted chairs dedicated to faculty members, grandparents and to students. Alums did likewise. To each and everyone: Thank you, Mille Grazie, Merci Beaucoup, Muchas Gracias!
