It's Not Too Early to Start Thinking About Summer 2018

And, guess what? You won't have to look too far to make your plans!  Check out St. Stephen's' Summer Programs 2018. They're exciting, interesting and certainly, never dull.  Where else can you get your own private tour of the Raphael Rooms (pictured above)? The Summer Program is full of plenty of delightful surprises that provide an exclusive and captivating glimpse over a two-week period in July and August.  We offer stimulating topics related to the arts, the Classics, languages and history. What better place to explore all that Rome has to offer than in the heart of this glorious ancient city!

St. Stephen's Arts & Humanities Program

July 22 - August 4, 2018

Open to students ages 13 to 18, the two-week Arts & Humanities summer program offers courses taught by the distinguished faculty of St. Stephen's School, along with exceptional local teachers.

Students in the program enroll in a language course (Italian or Latin), a core course (focusing on ancient Rome or Renaissance Art) and an elective course (course choices include Creative Writing and 2D/3D Studio Art). There are breaks between classes and a study hall period in the afternoons. The school's library and computer labs are open and available to students throughout the day.

Our summer session also includes an evening Cultural Program with events held on-site around the city of Rome, such as the opera and other musical and theatrical performances where the backdrop is Rome itself, outings to important landmarks in the city opened for special evening visits and excursions to different neighborhood and ice cream shops (gelaterie) in Rome.

St Stephen's at the History Bee and Bowl in Monza on 11 November!

Congratulations to Giorgia (grade 9), Andres (grade 11), Eric, Fabio, Julien, Lucas, Maysara and Pascal (all grade 12) for their achievements at the International History Bee and Bowl of Northern Italy held at the International School of Monza on 11 November. Both St Stephen's teams rocked in the preliminary rounds of the Bowl. Our B team won all rounds. Our A team only lost against our B team. They then both lost the semi-finals against teams they had beaten earlier in the day. Giorgia reached the last eight in her age category of the Bee (the individual competition), as did Fabio, Julien, Maysara and Pascal. Pascal won the bronze medal. Our students qualified for the finals with two teams so the students, all members of the History Club, will get ready for those now. The finals will most likely be held in Sweden in May or June.
