"Mens sana in corpore sano"
The school's Physical Education and Sports programs are designed to introduce and train students to a wide variety of physical activities that offer the opportunity to practice different sports all year around. The objectives of the programs are to improve physical coordination, create individual self-assurance and general good health. Sports and recreation skills have lasting value because they can be practiced throughout one's lifetime. The programs encourage the development of a healthy sense of competition and instill a sense of sportsmanship. Justly proud of its achievements in competition, priority is, nevertheless, given to developing a sense of fair play and encouraging the development of team spirit. The program's goal is to 'involve' all students, not just those with natural aptitude.
We offer a variety of sports including track and field, soccer, volleyball, basketball, tennis, calcetto, pilates, martial arts, yoga and modern dance. Tennis, volleyball, basketball and calcetto courts are located on school grounds. We also use private athletic facilities located in the vicinity. In addition to intra-mural competitions, regular meets are held between St. Stephen's and teams of other schools.
