Andrea’s Home, belongs to a nonprofit organization called “Associazione Andrea Tudisco Onlus”. This home welcomes and assists, free of cost, children as well as family members, who are under very serious oncologic treatments in various hospitals of the capital and do not have a place to stay in Rome as they come from far away. Being able to live and enjoy a home-like environment, be close to the family, and live within a community represents the most effective way to find the energy to fight against pain and illness.
Assistance guaranteed to each child by Casa di Andrea:
- Recreational-educational activities
- Psychological, social and legal support
- Home-hospital transfers
Ms. Annie Jacquet, SSS faculty member, has been working with Dr. Ambrogio Scognamiglio, Casa di Andrea’s Representative and clown doctor, for the past five years mainly with fund raising activities. The school’s club Reach Out is getting more and more involved in “Casa di Andrea” since Ms. Jacquet has been taking a group of students to Andrea’s Home throughout the school year to entertain and play with the children every other Saturday afternoon. In order to guarantee continuity she is now planning to go and visit the children with a group of students in June after the school is over and spend three hours with them every day for a whole week. (Monday 13th June – Saturday 18th June)
