Every summer St. Stephen's organizes four service learning projects that students may sign up to participate in. In June and July 2016, activities will take place in Rome at Casa di Andrea, in Rwanda, in Sri Lanka and in Lithuania. Students will be able to teach new skills to children in need around the globe and will also have an opportunity to learn about different cultures through these new experiences. Please make sure you check your email for information from Elizabeth Johnson-Mottola, Director of Service Learning, about next summer's trips. You may also find specific details below.
This morning, students of IB Biology had an opportunity to rub elbows with some of the most important and influential scientists of our time at a conference they attended on stem cell therapy for neurodegenerative diseases at the Italian Senate at Palazzo Giustiniani.
St Stephen's students are pictured here with Dr. Elena Cattaneo, who invited them to attend. Dr. Cattaneo knows St Stephen's alum and former trustee Rusty Gage. It was a wonderful day and an extremely informative conference, which provided our students with great networking opportunities!
