A Vergil Weekend to Celebrate the Classics at St. Stephen's!

As part of the Classics program at St. Stephen's, IB Latin students are required to participate in an annual retreat to study Vergil.  This past weekend, thirteen Vergil students read parts of the Aeneid under the guidance of Latin teacher Inge Weustink in the upper temple of the acropolis at Cumae, the legendary landing place of Aeneas in Italy.

St. Stephen's has always enjoyed a robust Classics program and in the 2016-17 school year, the School will launch 'Enhanced Classics,' which will leverage the School's location in a new way and take advantage of unprecedented access the department has cultivated over a number of years with world renowned scholars and unique access to prestigious institutions. Look for more information about this exciting, new signature program in the next issue of the School's magazine, out later this month.
