Fascinated with imagery of all sorts – high and popular, kitsch and camp and classy – and with the ways the vast image bank of the past and present can be raided for sources of contemporary art making, Gregor Curten is fully in command of his medium.  An art critic from a previous show once noted that "Curten’s drawings and paintings are beautifully made while being similarly passive and uncritical... Curten’s metaphor for the artist in contemporary Germany is the archetypal castaway, Robinson Crusoe, gathering and patching together whatever comes to hand in the bewildering wilderness he’s been pitched into.”

Intrigued? We hope so! We look forward to seeing you for this exceptional artist’s first show at the St Stephen's Cultural Center on Thursday, November 8th at 5:00 pm.
