A New Year Begins
A Celebration of Ideas at The Lyceum

The hallways are buzzing, classrooms are filled with lively discussion, and the energy of a new academic year is officially underway at St. Stephen's. What better way to celebrate the return to learning than by launching our beloved Lyceum program with an evening of profound insight and community?

We are thrilled to announce that the Lyceum will welcome two very special guests, Mohamed Tewfik Sellami and Azddine Medjani, to our campus for the entire week. These distinguished archaeologists from Algeria bring a unique and vital perspective to the study of the ancient world, offering our students unparalleled insight into the dynamic fusion of Roman and North African cultures.

Their presence is already enriching our classrooms, as they are spending these days engaging directly with our students through intimate class lectures and inspiring whole-school assemblies. They offer a crucial narrative often left out of traditional history books: the profound and reciprocal exchange between Rome and North Africa, which was a cornerstone of the empire's economic, cultural, and intellectual life.

This deep immersion is yet another reason to love a St. Stephen's education—our students gain direct access to groundbreaking researchers and scholars who are engaged in unique fields of study, right here on our campus.

Please join us to welcome them at a special lecture series:

"Rome and North Africa: A Forgotten Dialogue"
Featuring Archaeologists Mohamed Tewfik Sellami and Azddine Medjani
16 September | 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. (Lectures)
7:00 - 8:00 p.m. (Aperitivo)

The evening will begin with lectures from our distinguished guests, followed by a casual aperitivo—a perfect chance to continue the conversation, mingle with fellow parents, faculty, and community members, and welcome the new year together.

This is precisely the kind of unique, intellectual experience that defines a St. Stephen's education: where history feels immediate, learning is a lifelong pursuit, and our campus in the heart of Rome becomes a salon for global dialogue.

For more information and to register for this free event, please visit the Lyceum Events section on our website.

We look forward to seeing you there!
